Though the eleven different units within the Philadelphia Fire Department have different responsibilities, they all have the same goal --save lives. Each unit plays an integral role in expediting the PFD's mission statement of providing the citizens of Philadelphia with cutting-edge extinguishment, abatement, prevention, investigational, and emergency medical services.
